Former student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and former resident of the Thiers Foundation, Dan Arbib is a graduate and doctor of philosophy. After teaching at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and the Catholic Institute of Paris, he currently teaches at the ENS. Dan Arbib is Scientific Secretary of the Cartesian Bulletin (Center for Cartesian Studies/Archives of Philosophy) and a member of the Scientific Commission for the Publishing of Levinas Works (Grasset/Imec).  Dan Arbib is also ‘hazan from the synagogue on Rue des Tournelles.   

Dan Arbib is a professor of philosophy at Sorbonne University. Former student of the Ecole normale supérieure , associate of philosophy, author of a doctoral thesis at the University of Paris IV on «God and the infinite in the metaphysics of Descartes», he devotes his work to the philosophy of the seventeenth century, including Descartes and Spinoza , and Levinas. He co-directs the “Épiméthée” collection at the Presses universitaires de France, and directs the “Textes et commentaires” and “Études et commentaire” collections at Vrin and Teamim editions and Conférence editions. Since 2010, he is also director of the Cartesian Bulletin published in the Archives de philosophie . He has been a member of the Scientific Council of the Musée du Grand Siècle since 2022
