Clifton Spargo

R. Clifton Spargo (born 1965 in Chicago) is an American novelist, short story writer, and cultural critic. He is the author most notably of the novel Beautiful Fools, The Last Affair of Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald (2013).
He has published several books of nonfiction, including The Ethics of Mourning (Johns Hopkins UP 2004), Vigilant Memory: Emmanuel Levinas, the Holocaust, and the Unjust Death (Johns Hopkins UP 2006), and (with Robert M. Ehrenreich) After Representation?: The Holocaust, Literature, and Culture (Rutgers UP 2010).
