Edith de Belleville
Born in Belleville, Edith was a lawyer for many years when her passion for Paris brought her to university. At 50, Edith de Belleville resumed her studies and obtained her licentiate as a guide. Inspired by the women who made history, she dedicated a book to them “Belles et Rebelles, à l'ombre des grandes Parisiennes” (Éditions du 81).
Edith also teaches Jewish Heritage in Paris at the Gustave Eiffel University (Marne – La-Vallée) for future tour guides.
She also gives lectures in English and online on the history of art in France, in collaboration with Andrew Lear, professor at Harvard University and guide at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Edith has just published a book in English about the fabulous life in Paris of an aged guide “Parisian life, adventures in the City of Light”.
