Philippe Val

Philippe Val was born on September 14, 1952 in Paris in a family of small merchants. He dropped out of school at the age of 17, preferring to embark on song and café-theatre. In the early 70’s he met the singer Patrick Font, with whom he formed the gently subversive duo "Font et Val".
In 1990, Philippe Val joined the editorial board of La Grosse Bertha, which he left in 1992 to revive the satirical weekly Charlie-Hebdo, founded and directed from 1969 to 1981 by the late Hara-Kiri team.
